Family-Friendly Event Will Be Held 2-5 p.m. at the Rogers Park store

Our friends at the Wild Onion Market co-op grocery in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood are staging an ambitious schedule of events at the store, located at 7007 N. Clark St.
The next program — a Kids' Earth Day Event — is coming right up on Saturday (April 18) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Here is the description from the store organizers:
TITLE – Celebrating Sustainability – A Family Earth Day Event
DATE – Saturday, April 18, 2026
TIME – 2 pm – 5 pm
LOCATION – Wild Onion Market Grocery Co-op, 7007 N Clark St., Chicago, IL 60626
Wild Onion Market, the grocery store at Clark and Lunt, will host a family-friendly Earth Day Celebration with hands-on activities designed especially for kids . Participants will turn old t-shirts into reusable shopping bags, plant seeds in egg cartons, decorate grocery bags for community clean-ups, create posters with ideas for reducing and reusing, and win small prizes playing Earth-themed bingo.
Wild Onion Market is a grocery co-op owned by 2,600 local individuals and households. It supports local farmers and vendors and aims for responsible, ethical sourcing of all its products. People can learn more about the co-op and its events at www.wildonionmarket.com.
Environmental education, like food education, is key to building a new generation of advocates for a healthier and more sustainable planet. Props to Wild Onion for planning this event.
