Apply by January 3 for Their Fund-a-Farmer Grants

Food Animal Concerns Trust (FACT) advocates for the welfare of farm livestock and helps inform and support farmers who believe in this cause.

And FACT has opened applications for its annual Fund-a-Farmer grants.

This next round will add to the nearly $1.6 million total that FACT has given to 746 farmers since the program began in 2012. This program is not just a local Chicago-area focus — it's open to farmers throughout the United States and its territories.

Here are the program basics from FACT. Please check the embedded links for more information:

We have two different Fund-a-Farmer grant opportunities again this season:

You can apply for both!

Fund-a-Farmer Welfare Improvement Grants up to $3,500 each

One Fund-a-Farmer Systems Change and Innovation Grant for up to $10,000.

You can apply for either grant or both. If you are lucky enough to be awarded both grants, you will only receive funding for one. Learn more about each grant type on FACT's grant page

Our Fund-a-Farmer grants are very competitive as such, each farm or individual can only be awarded a grant once every 2 years. This means if you received a grant in 2025 you’ll need to sit this year out. You are, however, eligible to apply for a Systems & Innovation Grant if your project fulfills the criteria.

We explain our Fund-a-Farmer grant in our most recent webinar Getting your Farm Funded: Understanding FACT’s Fund-a-Farmer Grants in 2025

In addition to the Fund-a-Farmer grants, FACT has shared a series of upcoming informative webinars:

FACT's 2024/25 Educate-a-Farmer webinar series is gearing up for another season of educational program designed to help you raise your animals right. You'll love what we've got in store for you from "Poultry with a Purpose" to "Are you Ready for a Farmstay," we'll be covering topics designed to help you make money and care for your beasts. Here's what we have in store so far:

Here are the fabulous sessions already on the books:
