Launch Event Takes Place in Naperville This Saturday

This is a follow-up to an earlier Local Food Forum article about OLI Gardens, a non-profit committed to two noble purposes: honoring military veterans while eradicating food insecurity across America by providing means to healthy food.
This Saturday (May 3), you can learn more about the program at the launch of the OLI Patriotic Gardens Project. This will take place at 10:30 a.m. at Loaves and Fishes, 1871 High Grove Lane in Naperville, Illinois.
The following is background provided by the organization:
OLI Gardens' "Patriotic Gardens" project seeks to revive the spirit of WWll Victory gardens to combat food insecurity in our communities.
In the spirit of patriotism and community resilience, OLI Gardens is calling on individuals, organizations, businesses, and groups across our country to join a new movement--one that harkens back to the iconic Victory Gardens of WWII. During those challenging times American families cultivated home gardens to support the nation's food supply, demonstrating unity and purpose.
Today , OLI Gardens is reviving this tradition to address a modern challenge: food insecurity.
