Illinois Stewardship Alliance Wants You to Help Inform Lawmakers

Local Food Forum has been promoting Illinois Stewardship Alliance's Soil Health Week, which takes place March 3 through 9. Soil Health Week is a series of live and online programs about the many ways we need to maintain and repair Illinois' most precious natural resource.

The centerpiece for the week is the Soil Health Advocacy Day on Wednesday, March 5 at the state Capitol in Springfield, in which the Alliance is partnered with Illinois Environmental Council (IEC), Illinois Soybean Growers Association, and the Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

If you are passionate about this all-important issue in building a better, healthier and sustainable food system, here's why you should attend.

This is Illinois Stewardship Alliance's event description:

Your voice can make an impact to protect our soil and water and build climate resilience.

You’re invited to join us to advocate for a slate of issues that aim to protect our soil, climate, and water quality. Soil Health Advocacy Day brings together advocates and partners across the state, including our friends at the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC), Illinois Soybean Growers Association, and the Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

You will hear from inspiring speakers in the Capitol, meet with lawmakers, share your story, and connect with the wider community of folks who share a common goal of protecting soil for generations to come.
