The tall white building in the above photo is the Frankfort Grainery, a historic site in Frankfort, a southwest suburb about 35 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. On Sundays through October, it is the centerpiece of the Frankfort Country Market, one of the leading farmers markets in that part of the region.
This past Sunday (April 27), Frankfort Country Market became the last of four Chicago region markets to get a head start on the outdoor season by opening in April. That drew the attention of Ed Kugler, who shared the photos of his visit with Local Food Forum.
Ed has been active in Chicago's farmers market and local food communities for more than 45 years. Starting in early June, he will spend his Wednesdays as manager of Ravinia Farmers Market in north suburban Highland Park. But he is already under way under his superhero identity of Farmers Market Reporter, and his contributions will be shared on Local Food Forum throughout the season.

That's the man himself in an "usie" with Frankfort Country Market Manager Sue Lynchey. [In case you're not hip to it, an usie is a selfie with more than one person.]
We'll be sprucing up the feature with a logo and some other classy stuff soon, but in the meantime, here a virtual tour of the Frankfort market.

Frankfort Country Market is located in Frankfort's downtown area. It will be open every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October 26.
