Ed Kugler manages the Ravinia Farmers Market (with which he's been associated for more than 45 years) in the north Chicago suburb of Highland Park. When Ed isn't busy on that home turf, he... visits other farmers markets, taking lots of photos to set the scene for our readers in his Farmers Market Reporter series.


And boy, does Ed cover a lot of ground. Last Thursday (May 22), he caught the season openers for Daley Plaza Farmers Market — the flagship of the public Chicago City Markets — which is located in the heart of the city's downtown Loop, and LaGrange Farmers Market, located about 17 miles southwest of the center city (or 9 miles west of Midway Airport).
