Store in Lincoln Park Community Builds Upon Farmers Market and Catering Success

If the saying "good things come to those who wait" is true, then Daly's Donuts should get off to a running start when they open their long-awaited first brick-and-mortar store this Saturday (March 7) from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The store is located at 659 W. Armitage Ave. in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
Daly's Donuts was launched in 2023 by the married couple of Conor and Alejandra Daly — out of their apartment not far from the store's location — using a recipe for baked (not fried) doughnuts that Alejandra spent years perfecting. I first met them when they debuted at The Lincoln Park Farmers Market toward the end of their 2023 season.
The lines that formed at their farmers market stands and the success they enjoyed in their catering business prompted them to build out their store with hopes of opening in the first half of 2025. That proved overoptimistic as the couple faced even more than the usual permitting, contractor and logistical delays.
That wait has prompted the Dalys to move directly to a full opening this Saturday rather than the kind of soft launch that many foodservice places make. Their advantage is that they already have a sizable customer base who have been waiting for year-round access to their delicious treats.

There is also a touch of nostalgia in the store's location. It is just a few dozen feet from the place where they kicked the whole thing off: the parking lot of Lincoln Park High School, the Saturday home to The Lincoln Park Farmers Market during the outdoor market season.
As a service to the Local Food Forum community —😁— I will be stopping by the store Saturday morning to wish Conor and Alejandra good luck. If you can't make it Saturday, the store will be open from 8-3 on Sunday and then Wednesday through Sunday thereafter.
