Breaking: Chicago Chefs Cook's Oct. 6 BBQ Event for Hurricane Relief

Proceeds to Provide Urgent Relief for Victims in Chef Art Smith's Florida Hometown

The devastation wrought across the American South by the monster Hurricane Helene is just horrifying. The property damage and displacement is immense, and the final death toll may rank among the worst in the nation's hurricane history.

Chicago Chefs Cook, the non-profit philanthropic and humanitarian arm of the city's generous culinary community, is stepping up with a BBQ and treats fundraising raising event this coming Sunday to provide relief to Florida victims of Hurricane Helene.

The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chicago Q, located at 1160 N. Dearborn St., just north of the city's downtown area. Click the button below to buy tickets or donate to help out.

The event is called Chicago Chefs Cook for Jasper and Florida: A Benefit with Chef Art Smith. Art, a legendary Chicago chef, hails from Jasper, Florida, which was hit hard by the hurricane. As described by the organizers:

Chef Art Smith has teamed up with the award-winning Chicago Chefs Cook to raise money for those impacted by Hurricane Helene, including those living in Chef Art’s hometown of Jasper, Florida. Over 25% of Jasper residents live below the poverty line, and their homes and communities have been decimated by the recent storm and the substantial flooding it has caused. Most in the city are without power and have limited access to water.

A portion of the net proceeds from this event will benefit World Central Kitchen, an organization on the ground providing aid for those in need across Florida, and a local charity in Jasper selected by Chef Art.

Please join us at Chicago Q on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 5:00pm-8:00pm for an unforgettable night of BBQ and treats from chefs across Chicago. Enjoy small bites and an open bar, and help support a cause near and dear to our chef community.

Space is limited, so we suggest you purchase tickets in advance. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for purchase with Tap to Pay or cash only. Donations are also welcome should you be unable to attend.

100% of donations are tax-deductible, and $50 of each pre-event ticket and $75 of each at-the-door ticket is tax-deductible.

Jasper Strong!
