Art of Home Cuisine With Chicago Chefs Cook's New Cookbook
Chicago Chefs Cookbook was published in 2024 as a partnership between the Mariano's supermarket chain and Chicago Chefs Cook, the non-profit that is at the forefront of the Chicago region's extraordinarily philanthropic culinary community.
The collection of recipes, all submitted by local chefs, was such a hit that they are coming out with a second cookbook titled "Who's Coming to Dinner."
The cookbook will be officially released at a launch party to be held at Mariano's Bucktown store, located at 2112 N. Ashland Ave. Attendees can watch chef demos and have the opportunity to chat with some of their culinary heroes.
Like the first book, proceeds from the new edition will be donated to organizations that fight food insecurity. The recipients are Greater Chicago Food Depository, Northern Illinois Food Bank, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.
There is a twist with the newer book. Whereas the original is a collection of all-purpose recipes, "Who's Coming to Dinner?" features recipes intended for entertaining.
I attended the release party for the first book at a Mariano's in the Lakeview neighborhood and had a great time. So I can recommend that you drop in for the October 3 event.
