[Original article updated with additional information from Wild Onion Market]

Wild Onion Market, the co-op grocery store located in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood, continues its event series with a gathering to mark Women's History Month.

The event will take place on Sunday (March 29) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m at 7007 N. Clark St. It is free and open to all, and no registration is required.

Here is how the Market describes the event:

To celebrate Women’s History Month, Wild Onion Market grocery co-op will host an open house from 2- 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 29. It will feature comments by the woman who founded Evanston Grows and several of the women who create many of the nourishing and healthy products on Wild Onion Market’s shelves.

The free celebration is open to the public. Wild Onion Market is a community-owned grocery store at 7007 N Clark in Rogers Park. Food co-ops like Wild Onion Market are 100 percent locally owned and focus on supporting their local economy.

The open house on the 29th will feature a number of the women-owned businesses that are bringing nourishing and delicious goods to the Evanston-Rogers Park co-op. They include SydPlayEat, Tasting India, Nemi Sticks, Grandma Fannie's, Sol Food Natural Soaps, Miicki's Sweets, and Katherine Anne Confections.

Jean Fies, founder of Evanston Grows, will speak from 2:30 to 3. Evanston Grows is women-led collective impact organization dedicated to bringing together resources in the Evanston community to reduce food insecurity through increasing access to locally-grown produce and building community connections.
