Michael Fields Agricultural Institute to Hold This Online Conversation

ree

So many people are contributing individually to the rise of a better-for-people-and-the-planet food system by making their diets healthier, more local and more sustainable; shopping directly from local small farms; volunteering with some of our amazing non-profits; and more.

Nonetheless, if we are going to generate a true movement for change, more of us need to engage with our like-minded community in collaborative activities. To help shape this message, the non-profit Michael Fields Agricultural Institute is presenting a webinar on Thursday, November 20, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. central titled Community Collaboration (Without the Headaches).

Here are the details from the organization.

Community Collaboration (Without the Headaches)

Free Webinar - Thursday, November 20, 2025 | 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM CST

As farmers and community leaders, we all know how easy it is to get pulled in a million directions at once. Collaborations can open amazing doors and help us overcome common challenges, but they take skills, clarity, and care to do well.

Join us for a live conversation on how to collaborate effectively with organizations, schools, and other farmers without losing control, wasting time, or burning out.

Speakers Alita Kelly of Jade Rabbit and Halee Curtis, community organizer and conflict resolution specialist, will share practical tools and strategies to help you strengthen relationships and plan projects with intention.

Participants will walk away with:

• A partner planning checklist

• Strategies to keep roles clear and aligned

• Tools to say “yes” or “no” confidently

“When we strengthen collaboration and plan projects well, we can build the resilient, connected communities our future depends on,” says Kelly.

The event is free, but registration is required. Learn more and register at michaelfields.org/event-list
