Farmers with USDA Contracts: Learn from Farm Law Non-Profit's Webinar

Writer: Bob BenensonBob Benenson

Farm Commons is Serving Up Advice on Wednesday for Addressing Frozen Funds

As we've been reporting, many farmers across the nation are facing near-term and long-term financial damage from abrupt and ill-considered federal funding freezes and terminations imposed since January by the administration in Washington, D.C.

Figuring out how to make legal challenges to these decisions can be very challenging to do on your own. Fortunately, Farm Commons — a leading national farm law non-profit — is here to help.

Farm Commons is hosting a webinar on Wednesday (March 12) at 10 a.m. central to help farmers and organizations that are dealing with frozen funding, agency inaction, or have received a letter of termination. Join the webinar to learn from experts how filing a National Appeals Division (NAD) appeal or demand letter may help preserve your right to recover through a lawsuit.

The webinar will cover:

  1. Who might need to file an appeal,

  2. What filing an appeal achieves, and;

  3. How to file an appeal with NAD.

Facilitated by Rachel Armstrong, Esq., Farm Commons Executive Director, and Erin Hannum, Esq., Farm Commons' Associate Director and Attorney, this webinar explains and expands on the two recent guides they wrote on the role of filing an NAD appeal for farmers and Farm Commons' forthcoming guide for nonprofits.
