Over 50 of Chicago’s Top Chefs Unite to Fight Childhood Hunger
at Taste of the Nation on June 26th!
Co-chaired by award-winning chefs Joe Flamm and Diana Dávila, Taste of the Nation rallies Chicago’s top chefs to support the No Kid Hungry campaign’s fight against childhood hunger.
As childhood hunger continues to impact families across the country, more than 50 of Chicago’s prominent culinary talents, including Top Chef winners and Michelin-star talent, will unite for Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry on Friday, June 26th at Rockwell on the River.
The high-profile culinary event brings together award-winning chefs like Joe Flamm and Paul Virant to raise critical support for No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America. This is an exclusive one-night-only event where guests will sample scrumptious bite-sized fare, craft cocktails, and delectable desserts, all crafted by the best Chicago culinary experts have to offer.
The chefs, restaurateurs, tastemakers, and mixologists in attendance will consist of Top Chef winner Joe Flamm, Michelin Star restaurants such as Atelier and Galit, and multiple James Beard Award winners and finalists.
“Childhood hunger is an issue that touches every one of us,” expressed Chicago event co-chair and featured Chef Joe Flamm. “No Kid Hungry is doing incredible work to address this challenge and has already improved the lives of millions of children. I’m thrilled to co-chair Chicago's Taste of the Nation and support their mission to end childhood hunger.”
This year’s ultimate foodie experience was crafted in part by event co-chairs and award winning chefs Joe Flamm, Culinary Director and Chef Partner of Day Off Group, and Diana Dávila, Executive Chef and Owner of Mi Tocaya Antojería. They have worked with No Kid Hungry to bring every cuisine and cooking style to this event, from bold Asian street eats to upscale farm-to-table dishes.
Between bites, guests will cleanse their palates with curated, savory sips by celebrated local mixologists, winemakers, and brewers.
"As a chef, my purpose has always been to feed my community — not just with great food, but with care and connection. That’s why being part of this event means so much to me. Every child deserves access to a healthy meal, and I’m proud to co-chair Chicago's Taste of the Nation and help make that a reality,” stated Chicago event co-chair and featured Chef Diana Dávila when asked what being a part of the Taste of the Nation event meant to her.
In addition to the delicious food and drinks, there is entertainment to round out the evening experience, such as music and interactive games. DJ’s Ghengiswon and Bounce Castle will be setting the mood with curated beats for this evening event, and the games will consist of Taste of the Nation favorites, like The Shop and The Cellar. Guests can browse The Shop to purchase a mystery box featuring a unique prize valued at or above their donation, or they can explore The Cellar, where they can purchase a key for a chance to unlock our cellar door—the winning key reveals a fully stocked wine cellar.
Guests will also experience live cooking and mixology demonstrations featuring top talent from around town. This event is a great way to swap out the usual happy hour with coworkers or weeknight dinner with friends to enjoy some good food, all while supporting a great cause.
"One in five kids in the U.S. lives in hunger,” said Debbie Shore, co-founder of Share Our Strength, the organization behind the No Kid Hungry campaign. “No Kid Hungry is working to change that by equipping schools and community organizations with the resources they need to connect kids with healthy food. The culinary community has been at the heart of our work from the very beginning, but it will take all of us to make No Kid Hungry a reality. Chicago’s Taste of the Nation event is an easy way to give back by sipping and sampling the city’s top culinary creations while helping ensure kids in Illinois and across the nation have access to the food they need.”
General Admission and All-Access tickets are available now. All-Access Tickets provide admission to the event 45 minutes early and a reusable tasting plate, among other benefits.
This event is expected to sell out. For tickets and pricing, go to NoKidHungry.org/Chicago.
