D.C. Think Tank to Present Increased Competition and Fairness Program on June 25
If you are interested in a fuller perspective on the Biden administration's approach to food sector issues, you might be interested in this free webinar — presented by Center for American Progress, a progressive Washington, D.C. think tank — that will take place on Tuesday (June 25) at 11 a.m. eastern/10 a.m. central time.
According to the Center, which is marking its 20th anniversary:
"U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and Assistant Attorney General Jonathan Kanter... will discuss how the Biden-Harris administration’s actions are lowering costs, promoting fairer and more competitive markets, improving conditions for U.S. consumers and producers, and making the domestic food supply chain more robust and resilient."
The Center has a highly favorable view of the administration's handling of these issues:
"The administration’s agenda has aimed to foster fairer and more competitive markets through investments in processing and fertilizer capacity; modernizing and enforcing the rulebook against unfair, deceptive, and anticompetitive practices; and taking additional steps to promote transparency, market integrity, and the appropriate use of intellectual property such as in seeds."
National food and farm policy does not get nearly the media attention that it deserves. So whether you are a supporter or are skeptical about the administration, this webinar will be a great opportunity to get a leadership perspective. Click the button below to register.
And we encourage you to explore this new Local Food Forum website and let us know what you think.
