Learn About This Mission-Driven Urban Farming Project on the South Side

ree

Star Farm Chicago is a dynamic urban farming non-profit that tackles food insecurity and creates opportunity in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. Among its achievements this year was the opening of its Star Farm Fresh Market, which provides fresh, healthy food in a community where such options can be hard to find.

Now Star Farm and Stephanie Dunn, its founder and director, are marking the organization's 10th anniversary with a drive to raise $10,000 in order to further expand its programming.

Here is how the organization describes its Ten for Ten campaign:

Star Farm is turning 10, and we’re inviting you to help us plant the seeds for the next ten years! Your generous support fuels our work in Back of the Yards, from nourishing local families and supporting farmers, to growing sustainable food systems and vibrant community programs.

With your gift, you’re not just donating, you’re investing in a stronger, healthier, and sustainable food system. Together, we can make the next decade even more impactful.
