Salute to the Non-Profits of Farm Aid

Representing at Annual Festival's "Homegrown Village"

As I mentioned in an earlier post about Farm Aid 2026, it's a blast to get a photographer pass for the Festival concert and get close-up photos of music legends and rising-star performers. But honestly, if that's all there was to Farm Aid, I don't think I could have justified the expense and time devoted to the trip.
But that is far from the only reason. The Farm Aid Festival is the biggest gathering of people and organizations devoted to supporting family farmers and building a better food system. Among the many advocacy and information programs is the Homegrown Village, a collection of tents on the festival grounds where non-profit organizations — some of them national, others local to the region where the Festival is held — table and share information and insights with attendees.
In fact, I got to attend my first Farm Aid in Chicago in 2015 because the non-profit organization that I worked with, then known as FamilyFarmed, had a table in the Homegrown Village.
Since the Farm Aid Festival became a regular part of my yearly schedule starting in 2023, I have produced a photo display of the Homegrown Village non-profits. Here is my salute to the non-profits of Farm Aid 2026. All photos by Bob Benenson.
