Butterflies are Beautiful. So is My CSA Produce Haul.

I was fortunate to capture a photo of this beautiful butterfly doing its pollinator thing during my early morning visit to Just Roots urban farm in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood on Saturday (August 16).
I was there for my bi-weekly pickup of my Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription. I'm publishing a series of articles about these trips to emphasize both the beauty of food as it grows and the bounty of vegetables and herbs that the Just Roots non-profit grows on its little half-acre South Side farm.

This time, I'm cutting right to the CSA haul. From left, there's chard; peaches (from Mick Klug Farm of St. Joseph, Michigan, the only item not produced directly on the Just Roots farm); SunGold cherry tomatoes; amaranth leaves (I need to do some research on how to use these); rainbow carrots with their greens; green bell peppers; mint; red onions; and green beans.
Now, please enjoy the beauty pageant of peak season Chicago produce and flowers.
