Unique Collaboration to Take Place August 20 as Part of Ravinia Festival

The long-running Ravinia Farmers Market in the north Chicago suburb of Highland Park is partnering with the summer Ravinia Festival on a unique concert-farmers market combo event.

Scheduled on Wednesday, August 20 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., the evening will feature a market of local vendors who employ organic/regenerative practices. The market will be followed by a concert loaded with local talent, with bluegrass masters Henhouse Prowlers as the featured act.

If you are a sustainable food producer, you can make "The Best of the Midwest" a big success by applying to be a vendor at the event:

  • The organizers seek farmers and growers, cottage food makers and artisans. There will be space provided for up to two food trucks.

  • All products must use ingredients that are organically sourced (certified organic, regenerative, biodynamic, chemical-free, GMO-free). Holders of the USDA Organic certification automatically qualify; others need to provide documentation of ingredient sourcing.

  • Details about participant fees can be found in the graphic above.

If you are interested in participating or need more information, click the button below to contact lead organizer Ed Kugler, manager of Ravinia Farmers Market, and fill out the online application.

The ticket price for the event is just $30. Click the next button to visit the Ravinia Festival site, learn more about the concert performers, and buy tickets.
