Fundraiser's Proceeds Support Non-Profit's Farming and Food Security Efforts

Just Roots Chicago — an urban farming non-profit with a focus on reducing food insecurity — is holding its annual Growing Together fundraising event on Thursday, September 17. The tasting event, featuring leading Chicago chefs, will be held at Chicago Illuminating Company at 2110 S. Wabash Ave., located just a few blocks north of the organization's flagship farm in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood.

Just Roots' newer farm is located in Sauk Village in Chicago's south suburbs.

Tickets, including early-bird general admission through July 31, are now on sale. The button below also has information about sponsorship opportunities.

Here is how Just Roots describes the exciting event:

We invite you to join us on Thursday, September 17th to celebrate the best of local food and farming in Chicago!

Our annual Growing Together event will take place at the Chicago Illuminating Company (2110 South Wabash Avenue) and feature delicious dishes prepared by talented chefs from organizations like Avec, Provecho, The Evolved Network, and more.

Each collaborating chef will create a custom dish, using fresh, organic produce from our farms. As dishes are served family style, you'll learn more about each chef and the incredible custom dish they crafted.

In addition to the amazing food, the event will include live music, an open bar, a silent auction, and a special video presentation celebrating 5 years of It Takes A Village Community Farm.

All of the proceeds from the event will directly support our food access and education programs.
