Non-Profit Urban Farming Operation Makes Life Better on the South Side

Star Farm Chicago — a non-profit urban farming organization that increases food access, employment and training for residents of its South Side Back of the Yards community — invites you to join their June Brunch.
The event will take place on Sunday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at their farm located at 5232 S. Carpenter St. There are two ticket price options, one with bottomless mimosas and one without.
Founded in 2016 by Executive Director Stephanie Dunn, Star Farm Chicago is an urban farming and landscaping service that works to increase access to local organic produce through farmers markets, pop-ups and its local foods co-op. Brunch attendees will learn about their anxiously awaited Fresh Market, which is finishing its buildout.
Star Farm Chicago has a community-supported agriculture (CSA) program that is one of the few such services that provide home delivery. Along with yearly and monthly subscriptions, the organization provides a "no-commit" option for one-off purchases.
