Market is New Wrinkle for One of Chicago Region's Legacy Markets
Ravinia Farmers Market has been an outdoor-season fixture in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park for more than four decades. So it qualified as news this past weekend when the market went indoors for the first time.
The market debuted on Saturday and Sunday at the Wayfarer Theaters in downtown Highland Park, a couple of miles north from its outdoor seasonal location. (The location explains the movie poster in the photo above.)
These photos were shared by Ravinia Market Manager Ed Kugler. They show a welcoming environment with a mix of local produce and meats, value-added products, and crafts.
There will be another round of pre-holiday markets next Saturday (December 21) and Sunday (December 22), from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. After a two-week break, the market resumes on Saturday, January 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will continue on every Saturday through April 26.
