Learn from Leaders of Two Visionary Food Non-Profits

Over the six years since he launched The Evolved Network, Chef Sebastian White has established himself as a visionary leader in Chicago's food non-profit sector.
Sebastian — a former clinical psychologist who worked with at-risk children — created The Evolved Network to provide underprivileged youths with food education, culinary training and life skills.
Letisha (Tish) Steele became executive director of Chicago's Green City Market last June. She has made an impact in just the few months since, promoting the farmers market organization's efforts to help farmers succeed; provide shoppers with healthy, sustainably produced locally produced food; increase access for food assistance recipients by tripling their SNAP benefits; and expanding Green City's reach by leading the effort to purchase a building for Green City's first permanent indoor home since it opened in 1999.
So I can highly recommend the current segment of The Evolved Network's "By Accident, Choice or Grace" video series, which features a half-hour long conversation between Tish and Sebastian, who has close ties to Green City Market.

As The Evolved Network describes it, Sebastian and Tish "reflect on farming, food, and what it means to build spaces rooted in care rather than efficiency. Together, they explore land and markets as places of relationship, vulnerability, and healing, where slowing down and staying connected can reshape how we relate to food, community, and one another."
