Experimental Station to Hold a Fall Fête to Support Its Mission

Brunch Event Will Be Held Oct. 5 at Its South Side Headquarters

Experimental Station — a Chicago non-profit that plays an important role in building a better food system — invites you to buy tickets for its Fall Fête: A Community Table Brunch and Fundraiser, taking place on Saturday, October 5 starting at 10:30 a.m.

Experimental Station runs the 61st Street Farmers Market, held on Saturdays, which is the largest such market on the city's South Side. It is located on the northern end of the Woodlawn neighborhood and is adjacent to Hyde Park and the University of Chicago campus.

The organization also administers Link Up Illinois, which increases access to healthy locally and sustainably produced food by funding programs at individual markets and retailers that double the value of customers' food assistance benefits.

Experimental Station also hosts Blackstone Bicycle Works, which empowers youths from Chicago's South Side by teaching bike mechnanics, job and life skills through after-school and earn-a-bike programs.

According the organizers, Fall Fête includes a market brunch, a Bellini bar, a trivia game, and an informative tour of the 61st Street Farmers Market and Blackstone Bicycle Works, for $45/ticket.
